Actually, Leonardo da Vinci didn't finish his high school at all. So the knowledge he had was all accumulated by himself. He always observed the nature, thought some question, and practice again and again. He studied diligently, when he figured out a question, he went to figure an other question immediately. Now we can see a large number of notebooks he noted before, that means that he was thinking and thinking all the time! Therefore, I think the reason why he could succeed is that he had the spirit of wanting to know, wanting to learn.
